Connecting Oklahoma since 1976, Oklahoma Community Television (OCT) owns, operates and maintains six towers located throughout Western Oklahoma. Ranging in height from 200 to 400 feet, each tower has an antenna designed to receive "over the air" signals broadcast from Oklahoma City television stations, like ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CW, MyNetwork, KSBI, and in Altus Daystar and Trinity. OCT then rebroadcasts the signals on UHF channels to homes equipped with standard roof-top and set-top antennas in the western Oklahoma communities.
Oklahoma Community Television has made a substantial investment in equipment and holds 38 licenses from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
During severe weather events, natural disasters or national security events, cable and satellite services may not be available or reliable.
At Oklahoma Community Television, we are committed to continue operation and maintenance of the radio frequency equipment, the towers and tower sites for our six Western Oklahoma locations. To ensure ongoing service, OCT relies on our valuable viewers like you for operational support.
OCT Is Going Digital:
Please watch for special messages on KWTV/NEWS 9 for important updates regarding your viewing area. Weatherford and Elk City will be converted to digital by January 2010, with the remaining communities converted by May 2010. Once we convert a community, we will continue airing one analog station in that area to provide special updates. Once your community is converted to digital, you will need a digital converter box or digital tuner to receive OCT stations. If you currently receive OCT channels over the air, your current antennas should work and do not need to be replaced.
